Justine, is a little bit more than you'd expect. This is where you are supposed to put your "elevator speech". What you'd say if you were in the elevator with somebody you wanted to connect with. I don't have an "elevator speech". If I ran smack-dab into one of my "heroes" I'd just have to smile and be polite and keep my yipper shut and that's probably for the best anyway!

Black Dog
The Black Dog has me in it's mouth. I've been keeping a good lead on it for the last few years...but he's caught me up. I'm roiling sick and spinning down. Not much left to do but put out the phone calls to the doctors and let them twist their heads around a new idea to keep me afloat.

Lilting along....I've fallen into a pocket of somebody else I used to be.

I remember when I was Pinky and Amoreena and Harmony too. I remember plaster walls and a room with no heat. Dinner's at the Bonfire. Red plush carpet. Cheap Rose. Mallomars. Tossing beer bottles from balconies. Being somebody who still was alive, even though she was drowning. Being somebody who didnt' have a clue how far down she'd have to fall before she could go home.

I can't remember the password to my bank account, but here I sit, looped out of my mind on something ment to keep me alive.....singing word for word to songs I haven't heard in twenty years..........

I'm lost and drowning. Stuck in time and I can't go back....going forward looks even worse than what I've already been through.

Oh come own and howl with me my lovelies... Fuck the writing teachers if they don't like blogs.....Entertainment value is under rated....it keeps you sane and if your lucky it makes you money. Stephen King and Ann Rice have proved that true.

I shall float myself off to bed. Perhaps I'll find my old lucite frame with my hero's picture in it. It's probably stored somewher between old phone buttons and pickled meraschino cherries and photographs out of focus!
Blues for Baby and Me
Hey Cousin Tuesday....do you remember?

Blues for Baby and Me?
Dark Doorways
The dark doorways know my name
Most nights I pretend not to hear
When I walk by.

You became the cowboy
You always wanted to be.
I missed the past banching off
Into today.

You are so far away
I don't recognize your pictures anymore.
The fires you started are still burning
In the girl that's still lost in the rain.

I long to see your eyes
Staring at me from your
Broken lucite frame.
Icon in my broken temple of hope.

Accolyte to vague possibility.
Texts rubbed down to a worn brown
Icons tore and yellowed moving from wall to wall
'till I didn't put them up again.

Now I'm just a puddle that
sometimes reflects light.
Rippling with crippled memories.

Last year I drove the switchback road
Beside your mountain ranch
Never realizing you were there.
I've drifted so far
From my madeup faith.

A matchstick in the darkness as
My ship sank in the sea
Light burned out
Splinters on my palm
Float away

Water sure is wet today
In a warm beach summer, a long time ago, the Moody Blues where in the charts, life was new, we were invincible. The sunsets were golden, the water was emerald green, the sand was warm, the nights were alive with stars.

If we had known then, what we know now...we would have held hands and joyously skipped in front of a speeding beer truck.

This song came out in 1983 on the album whose cover introduced me to Maxfield Parish. "Running Water" by the Moody Blues
This Man.......

This man taught me how to make a wicked biscuit.

This man has deep green eyes, like the green sparkle of the ocean in the late afternoon sun. Like that electric green color of a wave at the top of the arc, right before you dig the board in and roll down the other side.

This man is one of the good things in the world.

This man gives me hope that hard work and dreams do work out.

This man appears in my dreams, often, and I don't know what he means when he shows up.

This man is helping me find a tiny ray of hope on a day when my disease is so bad I'm having to talk myself out of suicide.

I found this cool video tribute on "YouTube". It's by an artist who goes by the tube name of "AltonFan". Enjoy the video.
