The Arcade Is Open!
Just ten months after finally getting a house of my own, the pinball arcade is open!
My first pinball machine will be arriving Wednesday evening!
It is a Bally "Creature From The Black Lagoon" machine first produced in 1992. My machine is a very early machine from the first production runs. It has a factory painted cabinet instead of one with decals. It has been completely shopped and shined up and looks absolutely new.
Here is a link to the Internet Pinball Database page on the "Creature" machines.
Now I'll have to get a digital camera to snap photos of my newest pride and joy.
I purchased it from Jay at Funhouse Amusements and he said he's never seen a woman get this jacked up about a pinball machine. Don't know what that says about me though!
I do know that since I downloaded Virtual Pinball for my laptop, I spend two or more hours playing pinball a night. I do know that when I entered the game hall at the York White Rose Gameroom Show I felt like I'd entered Valhalla and Home all at the same time. The scent of ozone, the 'twump twump click' of thumper bumpers, and the feel of the flippers thwacking at my fingertips made me happier than I've been in years. My friend who braved the traffic with me hadn't seen me light up like that in all the time she'd known me. At the show I purchased a new sleeve of steel pin balls in the hopes they would attract the perfect game to my home. They have. I've waited a few months for Jay to get this machine ready to go and I'm glad I did.
Jay already has my wish list. I can tell that the pesky guest bedroom is not going to be a bedroom for long. I better put it on my list to have Babco Billy put in grounded outlets in there.
Hey cousin, when you read this. Laugh and be happy for me. You always knew I'd wind up with a pinball machine. It just took a lot longer than any of us ever guessed it would.

Thanks to using Blogspot hosting, I have been buried under SPAM.
So the Tuxedo Inn has been brought back to its original host.
We'll have to skip the fancy formats!

The plans for Taos have me bubbling this afternoon. I took one of those online personality tests from some university someplace.
Check out my personality profile!
And you thought I was just a plain old nutcase! :)
Coming around full circle. . .
I'm coming full circle.
I'm going back to Taos!
There's a lot to do before I pack my sunscreen and my iced tea mug. I have just enough time. . . or maybe some to spare. :)
A new digital camera for this time. A new me to take pictures of.
